Permit Required For Golf Cart Operation

The City of Lefors allows the use of golf carts on City streets, however the carts must be street legal, inspected by a City official, and a permit sticker must be visible which is issued by the City. The driver must have a valid drivers licence and maintain financial responsibility as required by state law. Also, while the vehicle is in motion the driver and every passenger must be seated in a seat designed to hold passengers and are not allowed on a lap or standing on the golf cart. Since the City does not have a marshal, any complaints will be filed with the City Judge and a summons will be issued. If you have any questions regarding permitting, please call City Hall at 806-835-2200.
