UPDATE: 2:40 pm. Public works is currently tying in the new main. Hoping to have water back on about 3:45 if there are no more complications.
On Thursday, February 5th, the water system will be shut down at 7:00 a.m. in order for public works to repair a water main leak on Second Street. Public works plans to install an isolation valve on the line and restore water to the majority of the town within 2-4 hours with the exception of the homes on the south side of Second Street between Gray Street and McLean Street. If there are unforeseen complications in the line repair, updates will be posted here. Plan now to have water on hand to flush toilets, etc. After water is restored, a boil water notice will be issued.
